Ndigbos Reject Plot To Substitute Dipo: Call For Caution

A high ranking official of All Progressives Congress in Lagos State  have revealed to the Leadership of Igbo Stakeholders in Lagos that the attempt to substitute Hon Dipo Olorunrinu’s name is connected to his alliance with the Igbos in Lagos State.

We can recall that the Vice Chairmanship Candidate of All Progressives Congress in Amuwo Odofin LGA in the forthcoming elections is *Maureen Chika Ashara*. She is and Igbo from Enugu state.

Amuwo Odofin is unique because of it’s cosmopolitan nature. The Igbo people in their very large numbers live and do businesses in  Amuwo Odofin. Most of the private estates in Amuwo Odofin are majorly owned and occupied by the Igbos.

It was only expedient and politically right to integrate us into the politics of the ruling party in Lagos State. This is what led to the alliance between the Igbos and Hon Dipo Olorunrinu in Amuwo Odofin. 

Valentine Buraimoh have failed abysmally in providing the needed Leadership to maximize the potentials inherent in Amuwo Odofin. The sufferings of the good people of Amuwo Odofin under Valentine Buraimoh is unprecedented in Lagos State. Two Supervisory Councillors of Igbo extractions serving with his administration were treated like slaves with so much disdain by Valentine Buraimoh.

It is fact that the outgoing Chairman of Amuwo Odofin encouraged policies that affected businesses owned by Igbo Investors. A popular road called Alakoso Road in Amuwo Odofin industrial area has been converted to  Trucks park under the outgoing administration. This is in addition to worsening security situation along the corridors of Mile 2 to Abule Ado.

The remarkable antecedents of Hon Dipo Olorunrinu as a former Lawmaker is enough assurance that Amuwo Odofin will be great again. He has the charisma, experience, knowledge , and networks, to mobilize unprecedented votes for APC not Amuwo Odofin but the entire stretch of Badagry Division.

Hon Dipo Olorunrinu is a complete grassroots politician with so much ongoing people oriented projects. He has remained commited to Community services such as free school buses, financial supports to petty traders, widows support programs, youth empowerment programs, scholarship programs, etc despite having left office over two years ago.

We are appealing to our National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene by stopping this unholy and unproductive act in order to save the party from Global embarrasement. We are already preparing for the general election immediately we saw the name of Hon Dipo Olorunrinu  published in the Nation, Guardian and Vanguard Newspapers on 4th June 2021.

It will be an unprecedented disaster if Hon Dipo Olorunrinu is replaced with another name. Hon Dipo Olorunrinu is an unrepentant detribalised Nigerian and religiously accommodates other people.

The Ndigbos acknowledge the great contributions of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the development of democracy in Nigeria. So, we don’t know why some persons wants to discredit this enviable achievement of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Ndigbos have resolved to not only to be members of All Progressives Congress but to also financially support the growth of the party in Amuwo Odofin. This is premised on our alliance with Hon Dipo Olorunrinu.
