Operation Crocodile
Smile IV has smashed a 30-year-old man, Okafor Collins, who distributes
cracked cocaine. He was nabbed at 311 Road, Festac Town area of Amuwo Odofin,
Local Government, a suburb of Lagos State Southwest Nigeria.
In a speech delivered by the Commander 9brigade, Brigadier General Etsu Musa
Ndagi, he said “it is my strong advise to them to desist from trading
substances of this nature because these are substances that actually exacerbate
crime in the society, because when people take these substances they did not
know what they are doing. They will become so violent and all of that.
The suspect has
been transferred to the Nigeria Drug Law enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further
investigation.
The suspect said, “I’m Okafor Collins by name, a businessman, dealing with
textile materials before I travelled out of the country to Singapore, but because
of what happened they refused to offer me a long time stay though I married a
white lady. Then on that note, I was supposed to go back to the east but
because of the shame and the trauma and every other thing I found myself in
Lagos. I actually came looking for job, but I searched for so long and I
couldn’t see one.”
He explained
further that the substance is given to me by one Okwudilichukwu. “He does give
me the number of people to go and deliver the stuff to and return the money to
him. I only help him deliver the cracked cocaine to people, I don’t have any
relationship with them.
“The white one wrapped with nylon is sold for N500, while the brownish paper is
sold for N100. I have been selling for a month and few weeks. After selling, he
gives me N2,000 and sometimes N1,000 depending on the sales.”
