Osun APC Accuses Accord Party Of Circulating Fake AI-Generated Election Results
Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has cautioned members and supporters of the Accord Party to stop spreading what it described as false, AI-generated governorship election results.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, a d released on Saturday , 15th August 2026, emphasizing that, it is “disheartening” that Accord Party members has allegedly taken on the role of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The statement added that, “It is disheartening that the members and supporters of the Accord Party in the state could brazenly descend to the dangerous arena of criminally and illegally assuming the role of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by declaring fake election results from the various wards in the state.”

The APC pointed out that only INEC is constitutionally empowered to conduct and announce election results, and described any other declarations as “illegality.”
“It is a statement of fact that INEC is the only corporate body constitutionally empowered to conduct and duly declare the results of the election,” Olabisi stated.
The party also alleged that the circulation of fake results was a coordinated move to cause confusion, and claimed some Accord Party politicians has “illegally enlisted the services of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to cause political crisis in the state.”
“Governor Ademola Adeleke should be held responsible should there be a post-election crisis which is being stylishly promoted by the governor and his co-travellers,” the statement reads.
The APC called on the Nigeria Police to investigate those publishing false results on social media, warning that the misinformation was capable of plunging the state into crisis.
It further pleaded by advising its members and supporters to remain calm and not be distracted.
“We are enjoining our members and supporters in the state and beyond to continue to go about their businesses in peace and refuse to be distracted by the illegal activities of the political bandits,” Olabisi said.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to declare official results for the Osun governorship election.
