Police Nabs Fake Lawyer in Akute

Men of the Ajuwon Police Division, Ogun State led by the Divisional Police Officer, Superintendent Akin have arrested one Mr Deji Ojo Elijah, a fake lawyer who had allegedly been defrauding people within the Akute and Ajuwon axis for about six years.

Newscarte reports that Ojo has been parading himself as a qualified lawyer in the areas for some years, defrauding unsuspecting residents.

For sometime, there had been suspicions over the authenticity of his claim as a bonafide lawyer by some individuals who had done business with him.

However, nemesis caught up with Ojo a few days ago when he was contracted to write a petition against an individual. In return, the recipient of his petition asked his lawyer to respond, and it was in the process that the lawyer realized that a fake colleague (Ojo) was behind the petition written against his client.

It was therefore discovered that the office address used by Ojo was not in existence, while his legal seal was also a fake one. This prompted the other lawyer to report the case at Ajuwon Police Division, whose men wasted no time in bringing the culprit to book.

Newscarte gathered further that during a routine search of the fake lawyer’s residence by the police, a wig and other law books were recovered alongside his fake seal.

He confessed to be a dropout of Ekiti State University.

He has been transferred to Eleweran Police Divisional Headquarter, Abeokuta for further investigation and will be charged to court.
