Nigeria’s controversial singer, Naira Marley, was on Friday night stopped from performing at a show organised by mobile phone manufactures, Infinix inside the University of Lagos, Akoka campus.
Naira Marley, who was billed to perform at the institution’s Sports Centre venue of the event, was promptly barred from performing.
Impeccable sources at UNILAG disclosed to Newscarte that the decision to stop the singer’s performance was for security reasons.
“We had intelligence brief that his performance would spark some security breaches, particularly among some rival cult groups. So there was no point taking chances,” our source said. There were also speculations that Naira Marley was stopped from performing due to his poor public perception and ongoing court case over cyber fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
