Ruger Fires Back At Death-Wishing Critic
Prominent Nigerian singer Ruger has responded to a TikTok user who publicly wished him dead over his music.
The controversy started after the female user faulted one of his songs, calling it “misogynistic and homophobic.”
In a viral video, she said in Pidgin that, “Ruger gats die na the only thing wey fit help my mental health.”

Ruger shared the clip on his X page and rejected the death wish, saying “I think I get a pass for her wishing me dead,” he wrote.
The singer also clapped back at the criticism, telling her to focus elsewhere.
“I think I get a pass for her wishing me dead. So apologies to the feminists and body positivity activists. But this girl is worried about the wrong thing. Instead of her to be worried about her high intake of okpa. She is on the verge of getting a triple chin.”
