Yayi Says He Planned To Make Late Actor Ogogo His SA On Culture And Tourism If Elected Ogun Governor

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate for the 2027 Ogun State election, Solomon Adeola popularly known as Yayi, has revealed that he intended to appoint veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, a.k.a Ogogo, as Special Adviser on Culture and Tourism.

The Ogun West Senator made the disclosure on Tuesday during a visit to Ogogo’s family at their Ilaro home. A clip from the meeting has since gone viral on social media.

“I planned to make Ogogo my Special Adviser on Culture and Tourism,” Yayi said. “Not just as SA, but as a full cabinet member if I win and become governor of Ogun State. That was my plan. I kept it to myself and I was working with it, believing that God will do it.”

NEWSCARTE reported that Ogogo died on August 23, 2026 at the age of 66 after battling cancer.

It was gathered that, during the actor’s fight with stage 4 cancer, Yayi was one of his major financial supporters and reportedly covered part of his medical bills.
