AY Comedian Warns Against Supporting Bad Governance

Prominent Nigerian actor and comedian, AY Makun has warned Nigerians against backing bad governance for short-term personal gain, describing it as a “dangerous gamble”.

This was disclosed in a strongly worded statement via his official X handle (formally twitter), today, cautioning many people who believed they can benefit from a flawed system without consequences.

“Many think they can dine with the devil using a long spoon. Sooner or later, the spoon disappears, and they realise they were never exempt from the consequences,” AY stated.

Furthermore, AY argued that supporting vulnerable leadership often starts from immediate benefits, while noting that those advantages rarely last when the institutions collapse.

“Supporting bad governance because it benefits you today is a dangerous gamble,” he stressed. He therefore opined that with a strong reminder about systemic failure, emphasizing that, “A broken system eventually serves everyone the same meal, AY declared.
