There are strong indications that Access Bank Plc has been ravaged by the Covid-19 pandemic, as sources claim more staff of the bank are testing positive to the dreaded virus.
For more than three months, Nigeria and the world at large has been struggling with the pandemic, as there is economic and social lockdown all over the world.
Nigeria’s Access Bank is not left out as it earlier reported two cases of a staff and customer who tested positive to Covid-19. The two branches where the incident occurred were said to have been shut while the staff were monitored to observe the 14-day mandatory isolation.
However, Newscarte gathered that more Access Bank staff across different states, including Lagos have tested positive to corona virus, but the management would rather make it a secret this time around.
Mr Abdul Imoyo, a Spokesperson of the bank in a phone conversation with Newscarte said that apart from a staff and customer who earlier tested positive, no additional case has been recorded.
Nigeria’s Covid-19 cases has been on a steady rise with almost 28,000 cases, while Lagos State alone has more than 10,000 as at time of filing this report.
Prominent Nigerians like former Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, Senator Bayo Osinowo (Pepper) from Lagos and Senator Abiola Ajimobi among others have also lost their lives to the pandemic.
