Ebonyi State Police Removed From Zone 13, Ukpo, Anambra

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, has approved the removal of Ebonyi State police command from the  recently formed Zone 13, Ukpo, Anambra State.

The command will now be under Zone 9, Umuahia, Abia State with effect from first September, 2020.

The action of the police boss might not be unconnected to the request by the governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi, on 14 August, 2020, while inaugurating Ebonyi State community policing advisory committees.

The Governor pleaded with the Inspector General of Police to kindly remove the state from the newly created zone 13, Ukpo, Anambra state to Umuahia, majorly on the ground of the proximity and safety of Ebonyians.

The Governor while reacting to the development thanked the IGP for his quick response and also reaffirmed his commitment to the security of lives and property of Ebonyians and beyond.
