Funmi Awelewa Laments Betrayal, Childhood Trauma, Loneliness
Popular Yoruba actress Funmi Awelewa has spoken out about the emotional toll of repeated betrayal and childhood trauma, saying the experiences have left her lonely and exhausted.
This was disclosed in a recent Instagram post, the actress, whose real name is Orijafunmi, said it took her years to recover from past hurts, but the same issues keep resurfacing in her adult life.
She lamented her struggles with relationships, stating that she often meets the wrong people and has been unlucky in love.

According to her, constant betrayal is the reason she remains single, a pattern she linked to her childhood experiences.
Visibly frustrated, Awelewa said she was tired of the cycle and called on God to step into her situation.
“I’m tired!! For the first time!! I’m tired of Agbaromoni ta koni. Oga tomu aparo’moni tako ni lowo. Every time, every year!” she wrote.
“It took me years to heal from Betrayal and childhood trauma. Orijafunmi is a name, but at this point, make Allah fight this battle, Abeg.”
Meanwhile, the actress post has since sparked reactions online, with fans and colleagues sending words of comfort and prayers.
