Juju, Highlife Singer St. Janet Dies At 49

Nigerian Juju and highlife singer Iyun Janet Oluwatoyosi Ajilore, popularly known as St. Janet, is dead.
The singer passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2026, after a brief illness.
Her death was announced by Otunba Femi Davies, a Nigerian publisher and socialite, in a Facebook post.

“St Janet (Iyun Janet Ajilore), a popular Nigerian Juju and Highlife musician known for her vibrant live performances, energetic stage presence and socially unfiltered party tracks, is dead. She died after a brief illness on Saturday,” he stated.
It was gathered that St. Janet was widely celebrated for her unique sound and electrifying stagecraft.
Her energetic performances and unapologetic party songs earned her a loyal fan base in the Juju music community both in Nigeria and abroad.
Tributes have since poured in from fans and colleagues who described her as one of the few female voices that kept the Juju and highlife flame alive with boldness and originality.
