Natasha Osawaru Named Edo Assembly Minority Leader

The wife of singer 2Baba, Natasha Osawaru, has emerged as the new Minority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly.

The lawmaker representing Egor Constituency was announced during plenary session yesterday.

The appointment followed a comprehensive reshuffle of the Assembly’s principal leadership.

It was gathered that Osawaru was elevated under the platform of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in May 2026.

Speaking in a statement shared on her Facebook page, she stressed that, “This new responsibility is not a title; it is a trust. Our democracy thrives on rigorous debate, accountability, and the courage to advocate for the ordinary citizen without compromise.”

Meanwhile, it was gathered that, the development comes amid her ongoing marital crisis with her husband, singer 2Baba.
