Crime Rate Has Reduced in Lagos –CP Muazu

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Zubairu Muazu, has stated that the rate of crimes in the state has reasonably reduced in the past few months, while the force has achieved a laudable feat in bringing criminals to book.

Speaking to Pressmen at the Police Headquarters in Ikeja on Monday, Muazu emphasised that the feat could be attributed to the robust crime prevention strategies put in place by the command.

“Within the last one month, the command arrested 40 armed robbery suspects, 29 suspects for cultism, and 19 suspects for murder. Nineteen firearms and 51 ammunition rounds of live ammunition were recovered. Thirty-one armed robbery attempts were foiled.

“Let me therefore use this medium to appreciate Lagosians for their support to the Command in terms of providing us with credible information on criminal activities. And to all the media Houses in Lagos, we say thank you. Together we will continue to make Lagos state safe for everyone,” Muazu noted.
