Shatta Wale’s arrival at Ghanaian maximum prison excites inmates

Inmates of Ankaful Maximum Security Prison, Ghana, have gone hysteric as popular dancehall singer, Charles Nii Armah Mensah fondly known as Shatta Wale, arrives at the facility.
The musician has been given a one-week remand time at the Ankaful Maximum Security Prison after he pleaded not guilty to the charge of spreading false news that caused fear and panic.
In a video making rounds on the internet, inmates of the maximum prison are seen and heard hailing the embattled dancehall musician as he is being escorted into the correctional facility to start his remand term.
Inmates at the correctional facility gave Shatta Wale a rousing welcome and cheered him on as he walked past them with a full security detail.
In the video snippet, the prisoners yelled his name and praised him for joining them.
On October 20, 2021, The Ghana Police Service arrested the popular dancehall singer for spreading false information. Shatta Wale was accused of spreading false information that he was shot by unknown gunmen.
